Terms of Service

Camino de Mount Doom — last updated June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Camino de Mount Doom (the "Service"), a personal fitness step-tracking application operated by an individual developer in Poland (European Union). By creating an account or connecting a wearable device you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of the Service

Camino de Mount Doom maps your cumulative daily step count onto a route across Middle-earth, from Bag End to Mount Doom. You can join fellowship groups, see fellow travellers' progress on a shared map, and sync step data from supported wearable devices (currently Garmin watches and Oura Ring).

2. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen; this permanently removes all your data from the Service.

3. Wearable device integrations

The Service may connect to third-party wearable platforms, including:

Your use of any third-party platform is also governed by that platform's own terms and privacy policy.

4. Data use

Step data synced from your wearable devices is used solely to calculate and display your progress in the Service. It is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for full details of what data is collected and how it is handled.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on a best-effort basis by an individual developer. There are no uptime guarantees. The Service may be changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time without prior notice. The developer is not liable for any loss of data or progress resulting from such changes.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Step data displayed in the Service is derived from your wearable device and may not be perfectly accurate.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

9. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
